Why Vive Works:
Vive’s Family Systems approach supports the entire family and encourages communication, trust, and continuous growth. Clients gain confidence, self-esteem, and learn about healthy relationships with consistent and often daily interaction with clinicians. As skills are implemented, boundaries are established, and communication channels open, Vive Family Support Programs is there to cultivate and support a healthy family system.
At Vive, we are trained as therapists, with a Master of Arts or Science Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage, and Family Therapy. Vive clinicians are different than traditional therapists because we work like a life coach or mentor and we are available throughout the day by phone and in person. This clinical training allows us to understand your child’s clinically complex challenges. The active engagement and phone/text coaching allow us to help our clients every day, not just during sessions.
Clients begin by building a strong relationship with their parent coach and mentor so that we can conduct an accurate assessment of the client’s difficulties from their point of view. We will engage in activities that support growth toward client and family goals. Some clients and their coach go on hikes, take an art class, or find activities that support building a client’s self-esteem and confidence. Our Therapists and Coaches are always engaged in conversation that is therapeutic but feels natural. We engage clients in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions, Motivational Interviewing, Art Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and many experiential interventions. Our goals are to reduce symptoms and assess which types of interventions will be most appropriate for the client’s needs. Some clients need help with self-harm behaviors, trauma symptoms, fatalistic thinking and anger about the past. Vive’s family therapists and coaches find ways to engage with clients that help the client apply new skills to their everyday lives.
