Amber Cromwell

Amber Cromwell, MA, LMFT, ATR
Marital and Family Therapist

Amber’s first profession was as an artist and educator. This led her to an interest in the human psyche and the study of psychology. All of these interesting pieces fit together through a drive and a passion for connection and an appreciation for personal growth. One of the things that Amber loves most about her career is the opportunity to witness the resiliency and self-discovery that teens and young adults make every single day.

Amber received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education and her Masters of Arts degree in Marital and Family Therapy with a specialization in Clinical Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University. When not following her career passions, Amber is most likely to be found outdoors (preferably the beach) or engaging in the arts in some way. As an avid live music fan, the Hollywood Bowl is her favorite place. And since she is learning to play the guitar maybe someday we can all see her on stage.

Self-discovery also plays a big part in her personal life as Amber has a wanderlust for travel. She only has two more continents to visit to complete her own personal global tour.

Brian Thompson

J. Brian Thompson, MFTI
Mentor/Therapist

Why you started in this industry: I felt drawn to work with kids because I like being playful and mentoring kids. Eventually I realized that therapy could provide an alternative cultures space for presenting important aspects of our lives. I believe that the truth will set us free, and I wanted to learn the art of leaning into and revealing truth.

Why you do what you do: I love the intersection of play and growth. I like facilitating self acceptance and aiding in people's healthy development.

Any personal info you’d like to share (spouse, kids, extracurricular activities): When not working as a therapist you may find me doing stand up comedy, playing guitar, or playing guitar, or playing basketball. I am a certified yoga teacher, teach blindfolded 5Rhythms dance classes, and run men’s groups in addition to my private practice.

Fun fact: As a kid I performed around Kansas City (my hometown) dancing and singing in a dance troop. I was trained in ballet, jazz, and tap dancing.

Trust in progress and commitment to change are key elements in growth. Genée’s clients generally find her authentic and easy to talk to and they appreciate her humor as well as her empathy and insight. Her objective is always to support her clients in achieving their goals and improving their lives.
